This is my first blog post on this website. Wow! How exciting is this! I am a first time author and have written a children’s book about my special needs Grandson – Ryan.
The Name of the Book is:
“My Name is Ryan – I am just like you, but different”.
Ryan is not my only grandchild, nor is he my first grandchild – but we had some major surprises when he was born. We expected nothing but an average (but still exciting) birth. We knew he was going to be a boy, but we had no idea the challenges that lay before us – especially his mom and dad.
I can tell his story only thru my (his Nana’s) eyes. Mom and Dad might remember things VERY differently.
There was a lot of soul searching and it took me several years to get up the nerve to write Ryan’s story. He knows he is different from everyone else – he has never know any other kind of life – but he is still so happy and cheerful. He is a joy to be around.
