Some people are so special!. Ryan has seen many, many, doctors and nurses over the last 15 years. Of course, we have liked some better than others. As is inevitable, some of our favorite doctors have moved on to other places. There is one doctor, however, who has seen Ryan consistently for the past 15 years. Dr. Fazili has taken care of Ryan since he was two months old. He is Ryan’s pulmonologist and has been fabulous over the years. The first time we met him was the day Ryan got his trach and we found out he would be on a ventilator. My daughter cried and I thought Dr. Fazili was going to cry also. He has so much empathy for his patients. Every time he sees Ryan he makes him feel so special.
Last week was Ryan’s six months check-up with Dr. Fazili. Ryan signed a book and presented it to Dr. Fazili. I thought he was going to cry again. He was so excited to read Ryan’s story. He made Ryan feel so special – as he always does.
Luckily, Ryan received a good report from Dr. Fazili and barring any complications does not have to see him again for six more months (fingers crossed).
